Spindrift

The Spindrift story began in 1999 when founder, Mike McDowell, decided to take the durable tubular nylon webbing he used to sew climbing gear for his employer (Metolius Mountain Products) to make a skijorning harness for his Husky Mix, Max. For those unfamiliar with skijorning, it's cross country skiing with a pulling dog. 

The ultimate result was the creation of an inventive and incredibly durable line of dog collars and leashes. Because of its mountaineering legacy this gear is some of the strongest in the industry. Every day, Spindrift staffers put their products to the test with their own dogs, playing in the mountains, rivers and desert surrounding Bend, Oregon, where every collar and leash is meticulously hand made.
